the moonwalkers Ensayo #5

I think Filipinos, nowadays, have come up with a rather twisted definition of a Hero. But who can blame them? Growing up in slums, 'educated' in the streets, constant coerced dealings with syndicates, dining with rats...if one had to experience these daily, then, anyone who comes off or appears to be a "shining beacon of light" is as comforting and inspiring as having a 'hero', yes, whether you're a politician, a celebrity, a sports icon or perhaps you're all these rolled into one big fat package like Manny, then, the masa will definitely dab you as their demigod. Because the Filipinos are in search for, if not a saviour, a hope-giver, who is highly capable of making them forget their deeply rooted, towering problems, more so now, when everyone's held captive in a moral and economic crisis. And believe me, Filipionos can take in anyone as their hero. But what makes up a true hero anyway? or WHO is the true hero? Because where I come from, everyone thinks they're a hero...so, no... (more)
Adelheid I Just Want To Reveal What Is In My Mind...^_^
I’d like to say that I know that everyone has strengths and weaknesses. I also have strength and weakness. But, one thing you should know is...I always hold my word. Always! When I say, I will do it…I will do it. And when I say, I don’t like it…I don’t like it. As well when I don’t like someone because of his/her bad habit, I will say…yes, I don’t like his/her, and I will choose not friends with his/her anymore and I won’t discredit his/her to everyone.
But then…I meet with some people who like to discredit his/her friend but then they still friends with them. It’s weird, isn’t it? And sometimes I think that these people who like to discredit his/her friend but then they still friends with them are people who can’t hold their words… And it makes me difficult to trust them. Yeah…sorry…
Well…I just want to reveal what is in my mind. That’s all. So, please, don’t be offended. Okay? ^_^

Recently i have been thoroughly fascinated with the Amazon, the tribes of Brazil and South America itself. Brazil i would say is the biggest mish-mash of culture in the world, or, South America rather. Outside from the natives, there are parts of South America influenced by French, African, Holland, Portuguese and Spain. Sao Paulo has the largest concentration of Japanese in one place outside of Japan. Argentina has much Italian influences do to immigration throughout the early 19 centory. The Amazon provides 15% of the worlds oxygen and Brazil has some of the largest fresh water reserves in the world. The amazon river itself is the largest river in the world by volume, "with a total river flow greater than the next eight largest rivers combined". South America has rich soil to grow various different types of crops and cattle and lots of land for grazing. we have everything we need to be fully sustainable without the dependence of anyone.
There are tribes within the amazon... (more)
